Brenda Bernstein, Founder and Senior Editor at The Essay Expert LLC, has been coaching job seekers and college applicants on their written application documents for over fifteen years. She holds a B.A. in English from Yale University (class of 1991, magna cum laude) and a J.D. from the New York University School of Law (class of 1998, cum laude). Brenda is also trained by the Coaches Training Institute as a life coach — a background which gives her a unique ability to draw out the best in clients. Brenda practiced law for ten years in New York City and spent a year as a J.D. Career Advisor with the University of Wisconsin Law School’s Office of Career Services. She currently works as a Law School Admissions Consultant for Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions.
Brenda’s expertise lies not just in creating an effective product, but in listening closely to her clients’ background and goals. Clients report that they gain clarity about themselves and their message, in addition to having that message expressed on the page.

Louis, Business Writer – Executive Bios, Press Releases, Blogs
With extensive experience globally in the media and public relations industry, Louis Caravella has written a variety of communications materials for national and international clients in such sectors as real estate and architecture, food and spirits, legal services, finance, publishing, TV and film production, arts non-profits and AIDS relief. A graduate of the Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Tammy holds a Master’s degree in East Asian Studies with a concentration in Japanese. She has worked for 18 years in international software marketing and development, filling roles in technical documentation, project management, quality assurance and training. She has consulted for such clients as Amazon.com, Compuware, Ask.com, Harte-Hanks/Trillium Software, Mail.com, Rational Software, L.L. Bean and Target Corporation. Tammy brings practical knowledge of the
development of product documentation, from ReadMe files to User’s Guides and Help Files, as well as
experience designing communications for a competitive global market.
Deborah Rankin, Web Designer
Deborah Rankin is a web designer and developer with over 13 years’ experience. Her client list includes the Bates College Dance Festival, the Maine Music Society, Halo Purely for Pets (co-owned by Ellen DeGeneres), and The Essay Expert, as well as other musicians, small businesses, and non-profit groups. Deborah has an extensive dual background in computer technology and fine art,
allowing her to handle both design and development creatively and efficiently.
