I based my assertions on a lot of reading I have been doing on the internet and also on a transcription project I’ve been doing where many employers and recruiters state that they Google everyone before hiring them. I also know several people first-hand who got jobs through LinkedIn.

There are also a huge number of recruiters on LinkedIn, in groups such as LinkedHR and JobSearchUSA. Many of them search LinkedIn for potential candidates.

Can I ask you a question? You said that you reviewed other people’s profiles. Then you said “Here?s what potential employers and clients will see in most profiles:…”

The question is: Can you elaborate on how you know what potential employers will see? Do you know who those employers are? Do you know them by name? Did you ask them what they will see from them or is this your opinion on what they will see?

The point I am trying to make here is: I have seen that in this market, the only people who make money is those who say “Follow my advice and you will get a job”. BTW, I did not make this up. I heard it from a SCORE counselor.
